Online Event Consulting & Zoom Support

Hi!

In addition to offering support for online event and learning communities, I am a massage therapist and meditation teacher based in Washington, D.C. Since I have this website already, I decided to add a hidden page sharing a bit more of what I can offer in regards to support for online events. Feel free to look around to learn a bit more about me.

Massage, meditation, and… Zoom tech support? Not an obvious progression, to be fair, but I am a man of many interestes. What I most enjoy about supporting online events is working with a wide range of clients, which include an online Tarot festival, an anti-racist educational non-profit, and an international organization in Mindful Self-Compassion, to adapt the technology to suit their needs and customers. It’s a big wide world and Zoom is making it even smaller.

Technology should facilitate communication and learning. It’s my role to advise you and support your event so it runs as smoothly as possible. I am at my best when I understand the feeling, vibe, or atmosphere you want to create, so I can help brainstorm how the Zoom platform can help get you there.


What I Offer

Pre-Event Consulting

How many people are you hosting? How many presenters? Do you need breakout rooms, registration, or live chat? Zoom is a flexible and changing technology that can be adjusted to suit your needs. I will be part of your planning team to make sure Zoom is set up for you and everyone involved is on the same page. I can also support your pre-event communications with your customers or members regarding the Zoom platform to help avoid tech issues.

Live Tech Support

Events run smoothly with an experienced hand behind the scenes making sure the right people are unmuted, breakout groups are ready, and everything else that’s necessary for a good session. Even if you are confident with Zoom, having me on your team frees you up not to worry and focus on presenting or coordinating other aspects of the event. I can also orient your participants to the Zoom platform on the live calls and troubleshoot with them if their having audio, video, or connectivity issues.

Recordings and Video Editing

I can also manage the recordings of your sessions. I offer basic video editing services to cut out dead space, remove non-applicable logistical details, add your existing branded intros, and insert simple transitions. I do not offer in-depth audio editing or graphic creation, but the videos I produce are perfect for re-viewing by participants or to share on Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, or your preferred video-hosting service.

How much do you charge?

I charge $40 per hour. In special situations I am willing to discuss a flat, all-inclusive fee. Our first introductory Zoom call will not be billed.

Can you do _________?

The nature of tech these days is that there are always new services, integrations, and streaming options available. If I haven’t used the service, I’m confident I could learn! Please complete the questionnaire below to give me a better sense of your event and we can take it from there.

Outside of the duration of the live event, how many hours should I expect to be billed for?

Good question. It, of course, depends. Within the scope of my expertise, I am at your disposal. I encourage you to budget for adequate pre-planning and communication. Without that, we’re raising stress for everyone and just taking our chances that the event goes smoothly. If you have a complex event or are just getting started in setting your team up on Zoom, this might mean a few extra hours for planning and coordination.

Video editing takes around 1 hour per video, though this depends on the length and complexity of the project.
