Weekly Meditation Group
This group is an opportunity to learn, relax, deepen, and connect with other practitioners. It's energizing, enriching, and inspiring to gather with others who also practice meditation. Practitioners of any experience level are welcome.
Each week I will introduce specific theme or aspect of meditation before a guided practice of about 25 - 30 minutes. We’ll conclude with time for any questions and discussion.
My approach to meditation emphasizes friendliness, curiosity, and self-compassion. The essential point of meditation is to trust ourselves and give ourselves permission to feel however we feel. By doing this again and again, with the encouragement and inspiration of a community of practitioners, we begin to shift how we relate to ourselves and the world around us.
I also believe it’s important to connect our meditation practice with what is happening in our lives. All the challenges of 2020 - the COVID pandemic and the brutal election cycle, against a backdrop of environmental destruction and disaster - are making uncertainty, fear, and a non-specific sense of impending doom daily realities. And there are still the normal challenges of work, family, and life. I believe a regular meditation practice can help us through the stressful, scary, and reality-shaking times in which we live. It can help us show up as we want to when we are confronted by challenging situations in the future.
Who: Any experience level
When: Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30pm EST.
What: Guided meditation, with an opportunity for discussion and Q&A.
